Send me a short description of your situation. If I believe I can help, I will reply with the next steps.

Stuck in your career

You may be preparing for a senior or architect interview, trying to move beyond your current role, or dealing with an architecture problem at work.

You can usually find another course, video, or book. But more information does not always tell you what you are missing. It cannot look at your situation, challenge your assumptions, or help you decide what to do next.

That is where coaching comes in. We look at the real situation you are facing and work toward a justified next decision.

What this is

This is not another course. The courses are already available for free.

This is where you bring a real career, interview, or architecture problem, and we work through it together. We choose one problem, one desired outcome, and one practical next step.

You may bring:

  • An upcoming senior or architect interview.

  • A career decision you are struggling with.

  • An architecture diagram or proposal you want reviewed.

  • A system design decision you need to make.

  • A situation at work that is holding you back.

The goal is not to give you answers to memorize. The goal is to help you think more clearly, make better decisions, and explain why those decisions are justified. In other words, the goal is to help you think like an architect.

How it works

Before the session, you send me a short description of your current situation and what you want to accomplish.

During the session, we focus on that specific problem. I ask questions, challenge your thinking, and help you identify what may be missing.

After the session, I send you a short written action plan with the next steps.

Some problems can be handled in one focused session. Others may require us to continue step by step. This may involve watching one of the free courses, reading a PDF guide, completing a coding assignment, reviewing an architecture diagram, or making a system design decision for a real use case.

If further work would help, I may suggest another focused session or a longer coaching path. We decide together before continuing.

The only true shortcut

As a kid, I was the best basketball playmaker in my village. I was invited to play for teams from neighboring villages. I used to train alone, me and the basketball that I called my “girlfriend”. I would wake up at 4 AM to train in the chilly morning.

Everything changed when I moved to the capital for university. I started strong impressing everyone with my skills. Then something unexpected happened.

Within a few months, I ran into players with much more refined skills. Despite all the self-training, I couldn’t keep up with them. I kept asking myself: how did they improve so much with less effort?

That’s when I noticed many of them had personal coaches. These coaches guided them, corrected their techniques, and planned their fitness routines.

It felt unfair. My background didn’t allow for personal coaches. I got frustrated and gradually stopped playing basketball.

In hindsight

Looking back, I learned two things:

  • There's no concept of fairness. If you have an advantage, you should take it.

  • I was playing basketball in ultra-hard mode. It was not just about playing; it was about training smart.

Having a coach shortens your learning curve because you are leveraging their experience. These players were benefiting from their coach’s 10,000+ hours and all the mistakes the coach had already made.

Look at any all-time great and you will find a great coach behind them. Magnus Carlsen worked with Garry Kasparov, Tiger Woods with Butch Harmon, and Michael Jordan with Phil Jackson.

The same thing happens in software

I now see experienced developers doing what I did. They work hard on their own, watch more courses, and read more books, but they do not always know what they are missing.

A good coach cannot do the work for you. But they can identify your blind spots, challenge the way you are thinking, and help you focus on the next step instead of continuing in random directions.

Tell me what you are facing
